Two Cents:

So my guess is the pitch for this film was – ET meets Aliens in south London! Typically I’ve found fun crazy high concept ideas like this are then poorly developed and result in a bad film. Or they start great, and quickly run out of ideas. But Attack The Block is brilliant from beginning to end! It’s a fun simple movie loaded with superb ideas and a great sense of humor. There is real depth to the characters here that just builds and builds as the film runs. You care about them as they deal with an alien invasion in their neighborhood. I really recommend you watch this film.

Movie Prep:

If you’re from the UK, you probably won’t have much trouble with the dialog. From anywhere else, the south London lingo could be a little hard to follow.

Best viewing format:

Not really a big screen experience this one. But a nice HD disc would be nice. In my opinion it’s worth buying. It’s the kind of film you’ll re-watch often – and then force all your friends to watch –  because it’s just so much fun.

Best moment for me:

A sample of dialog:

Sam: What’s Ron’s weed room?

Brewis: It’s a big room! Full of weed. And it’s Ron’s.
