Two Cents:

You’ve got to hand it to Marvel and Disney, they sure know how to build a quality superhero franchise. Phases 1, 2 and 3, each closing with a compilation piece that brings story elements and characters together for one big dazzling fireworks show. They may have gotten a little formulaic and safe after the opening set of films, but at least they’ve been consistent, and entertaining.

DC and Warner Bros. on the other hand, just don’t seem to get it. Batman V Superman is a melting pot of ideas, moments, and characters bundled together in no logical order. Like a crowded dance floor, with its flashing lights and thumping music, but nobody has the room to truly standout and impress us with their moves.

Batman v Superman should have been a story pitting the human race against a god. A story that shows us that a motivated human being can outwit and outperform a higher power. A true modern-day David and Goliath. Instead, all we get is a string of cool looking moments, with little or no development justifying each character’s actions in this story. This is nothing more than a warm up act; a two-and-a-half-hour long trailer for the Justice League movies. Loud, dumb and humorless.

Movie Prep:

This is a mindless spectacle, nothing more. Don’t go into this expecting anything else.

Best Format:

This film clearly cost a lot to make, and the good visual effects will be best served on a large theater sized screen.

Best Element:

Hans Zimmer and Jackie XL’s score is by far the best thing about this movie.

Didn’t think was that bad, Eisenburg was a good lex Luther. Would have been better it they didn’t advertise as a vs movie.
