Two Cents:

This is a supremely enjoyable film for people of all ages. Beautifully animated with lively bright colorful characters both dragon and human, and real depth to the story it tells. There really is something for everyone here. Kids will likely enjoy all the dragons and their varying abilities and characters, and parents should connect to the heart warming father son story. I can’t recommend this film enough.

Movie Prep:

I know, I may have over hyped the movie. It really is that good though! No real mental preparation required other than just be in the mood for a heart warming well made animated film. If you connected emotionally to E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, you’ll likely enjoy this too.

Best viewing format:

I don’t say this this often, but this film is one you should see in 3D. The film works great with a 2D viewing, but the flying sequences in 3D are really something to watch. Matinee or full price showings are equally good.

Best moments for me:

There are many – the flight sequences – the training scenes. Lot’s to enjoy here!

Jon Bruton’s 2 pence:

This film was tremendous in 3D I agree. Saw it again in 2D and afterwards my son began an obsession – well deserved (the books, game and Christmas short came afterwards). This film is a superb action, comedy, drama, fantasy; we are both looking forward to the sequel!
