Staring – Directed – Written: Movie 43
Rating: R (US) Running Time: 1 hr 37 min
So Movie 43 is a collection of short films, as told by a desperate director pitching his various ideas to a studio executive. As each idea is proposed, we’re forced to watch another short film. The movie has thirteen directors and nineteen writers, and is loaded with some A-List acting talent. Yet it still somehow manages to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Possibly the worst ever.
Each story is based on an absolutely insane idea. That idea is then explored to levels that quite frankly are disgusting, offensive and just plain stupid. I’m still having trouble understanding how such a supposedly talented group of people even got together to make this. That a studio even wanted to release the finished product is incredible too. I think what I witnessed was some kind of cathartic exercise. That drivel like this builds up in the minds of Hollywood’s upper echelons, and must be released before they move onto better projects. Normally this is likely done in some kind of clinic or group therapy session behind closed doors. Somehow though, this literary diarrhea amazingly got a green light. It ended up on the big screen, and became a embarrassing entry on many a talented actors resume.
If you feel like taking this one on. Go into this expecting the worst movie ever made. It’s offensive, crude, stupid and gross.
Best viewing format:
A showing over your preferred streaming service is enough. If you don’t have that access, try to find someone who actually purchased the dvd and use that. They may likely try to giveaway the disk. Do not accept! You might also want to question said friendship after you watch what they tried to palm off on you!
Starts at minute 1, and ends at minute 97.
